The search feature in CalorieKit allows you to easily find and log food items. Here’s a quick guide to help you use this feature effectively:
Open the Search:
Tap the Add New Food (+) button on the navigation bar to open the search screen.
Enter Your Search Term:
Type the name of the food you want to log into the search bar at the top of the screen. For example, type "pizza" to find various types of pizza.
View Search Results:
As you type, a list of matching food items will appear below the search bar.
Each food item shows its calorie content and a breakdown of its macronutrients:
Calories (K): Total calorie count.
Carbs (C): Amount of carbohydrates.
Protein (P): Amount of protein.
Fat (F): Amount of fat.
Select a Food Item:
Tap on the food item that matches what you consumed. For example, you can choose "Cheese Pizza" or "Pizza with Meat" based on your meal.
If you prefer to scan a barcode, tap the Scan button next to the search bar.
This will open the barcode scanner, allowing you to scan the barcode on a food package to quickly retrieve its nutritional information.
Here is a quick guide on scanning a Barcode
Open the Barcode Scanner:
Tap the Barcode Scanner button on the navigation bar or the Scan button on the search screen.
Position the Barcode:
Hold your phone steady and position the barcode within the frame shown on the screen.
Ensure there is no glare or shadows on the barcode for a successful scan.
Wait for the Scan:
The app will automatically scan the barcode. You will see a prompt that says "Hold still for scan. Avoid glare and shadows."
If the scan is successful, the nutritional information for the food item will be retrieved and displayed.
